About Me

My name is Mary Stanfield. I’m a former journalist, current slave to academia and lifelong lover of words and good design. I have nearly 10¬†years of professional designing, editing and writing experience: in the newsroom, as a freelancer and for indie authors.

As an author myself, I understand the pressures indie and self-published authors face and what they need. As a web and graphic designer, I love providing unique and effective design as affordably as possible. As an editor and coach, I love helping people tell their stories better. It is my pleasure and privilege to work with indie and self-published authors, as we see more and more people able to access the opportunity to publish. Self-publishing is the future, and I’m proud to be a part of that future by helping authors focus on what really matters to them: Writing.

When I’m not designing, I’m a DC-area author, activist, small business owner, philosophy graduate student and part-time superhero.
